About Aotearoa

Aotearoa (New Zealand) commands great appeal for migrants due to its ‘clean, green’ lifestyle and down to earth friendly attitude. New Zealand enjoys a well deserved reputation as a liberal and tolerant society. We do have enormous freedoms; however there are certain laws that are strictly enforced for citizens’ safety and health.

New Zealand has the benefit of being a modernized and industrialized country, responsive to innovative thinking and hard work, but retaining an unspoiled landscape and coastline for an unequalled life of sport and recreation at the same time. Aotearoa is technologically advanced and is world renowned for its competitiveness in the marketplace for its farming and agriculture, its capacity to initiate social and economic advance and the general prosperity and sporting prowess of its people. More than that, New Zealand is a great place to raise a family.

Location

Aotearoa is part of the South Pacific, approximately 3hrs flight from Australia, with a population of approximately 4.3million spread out over the main North and South Islands. Almost a third of the population is in the northern Auckland area. Wherever you venture in New Zealand, there is a great diversity and easy access to coastlines, rivers and lakes offering an abundance of clean, sandy beaches and crystal clear water for surfing, sailing, fishing, gathering shellfish, kayaking, snorkeling, water skiing or just plain relaxing. During the winter months, New Zealand boasts one of the world’s top snow skiing destinations both on the North and South Islands and the snow boarder’s dream, Queenstown. There is always a grand time available for the avid trout fisherman as well.

Historically

By most other standards, New Zealand is a very young country, with European settlement on a large scale only occurring over the last 150 years.
Our Housing

Health

New Zealand’s healthcare system is widely regarded as one of the best of the OECD countries.
Education

Our government-funded schooling system provides a comprehensive curriculum of academic, sporting and skills-based learning options, in a positive environment.
Cost of Living

New migrants generally find that New Zealand offers a better balance between cost of living and lifestyle than they had before.
Language

English is the main written and spoken language in New Zealand – with a number of different accents! Maori is also an officially recognised language and is spoken fluently by over 4% of the population.
Climate

Being in the Southern Hemisphere, our seasons are completely opposite to countries north of the equator. Winter is June through August and our summer is between December and March.
Our Government
